Pair Accused Of Shoplifting From Walmart

CLEVELAND AREA – Two Clayton residents were arrested October 25 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

Mitchell Glen Kuenzler, 31, and Hailey Diana Olive, 29, of Deep Creek Drive, were charged with misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor conspiracy, and felony larceny by removing or destroying an anti-theft device.

The JCSO said Kuenzler and Olive went to Walmart, at 5141 NC 42 West, and left without paying for $360.35 in merchandise.

The couple had left Walmart before the officer arrived but were located a short time later during a traffic stop.

The suspects reportedly claimed they had paid for the items and had a receipt, however, they could not provide the receipt to law enforcement.

Officers reviewed video surveillance footage at Walmart which reportedly revealed the couple failed to scan multiple items at the self- checkout. The merchandise was recovered and returned to Walmart.
