Pair Linked To Thanksgiving Day Shooting Incident

Campbell-Lucas-Mugshots-FITwo arrests have been made following a shooting incident near Selma. It happened Thanksgiving morning on Hawkins Road off US301.

Deputies said a physical altercation occurred at the home around 2:00am Thursday. As the suspects were leaving the scene in a car, they reportedly fired several rounds from a handgun into the home.  Three people were in the home but were not struck.

Kenly Police located the vehicle a short time later and detained the suspects for deputies. 

Rashid Sharife Campbell, 21, of Blue Pond Road, Clayton and Sonmone Ragean Lucas, 19, of Old Webb Lane, Wendell were charged with discharging a weapon into occupied property. Campbell was jailed under a $100,000 bond. Lucas was held under $50,000 bail.

Deputies said they seized a 9mm semi automatic handgun, shell casings, and a cell phone during their investigation.
