Parks & Rec Wins Approval For $16,856 Project

The Smithfield Parks and Recreation Department will use funds in the current fiscal year budget to install four shade structures at two parks.

The Smithfield Town Council approved a $16,856 bid to Barrs Recreation. They were the low bidder for the project.

The structures are 10 foot x 20 foot each and include four columns with a hip-style roof with an 8 foot eave height. Two will be installed over the existing dugout fencing at Smith-Collins Park Baseball Field and two will be installed at the Second Street Dog Park.
