Partnership For Children Of Johnston County Is Seeking Next Executive Director

JOHNSTON COUNTY – This week, the Board of Directors of the Partnership for Children of Johnston County launched a comprehensive search for the organization’s next Executive Director.

“Leadership change presents a new opportunity for young children and their families in Johnston County,” said Suefan Johnson, Chair of the Board of Directors. “As we look to our next phase of development, this is a chance to build on a great foundation to ensure that every child in our county gets the opportunity to thrive and enter Kindergarten ready to succeed, and to build a stronger, healthier workforce for the next generation.”

The Board of Directors is seeking a strategic, hands-on leader as the Partnership’s next Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for providing effective leadership and administration for all the organization’s programs, including NC-PreK and Smart Start. The Executive Director is also responsible to the Board of Directors for management of the entire nonprofit organization including fund development, strategic planning, human resources, finance, and communications.

The organization bid farewell to its former Executive Director Dwight Morris this spring, after more than seventeen years of dedicated service. The Board of Directors said they were grateful for Mr. Morris’ many years of leadership in the organization.

In the interim, the Board retained an Interim Executive Director, Fawn Pattison, who brings more than twenty years of experience leading non-profit organizations. She will continue to provide executive oversight of the organization until the new Executive Director begins – anticipated in October of 2023. The Board has retained Building Stronger Teams, LLC to lead the search.
