Pedestrian Killed In Overnight Accident
CLAYTON – A Clayton area woman was killed after she reportedly stepped into the path of a minivan. The accident occurred just before 10:00pm Tuesday in the 500 block of Government Road.
The Highway Patrol identified the pedestrian as 58 year-old Debra Jean Morgan. Morgan died at the scene. Authorities said she lived only a short distance away.
The driver of the minivan that struck Morgan stopped at the scene. The driver will not face any charges, according to state troopers.
