A pedestrian walking in the roadway was struck and killed Thursday night in Johnston County.
Emergency crews responded to the 9:02pm crash on Cleveland Road in front of West View Elementary School.
According to the NC Highway Patrol, 42 year-old Adaryll Layjuan Tisdale of Garner was wearing dark clothing and walking in the eastbound travel lane of Cleveland Road when he was struck by an eastbound car driven by Nicholas Wayne Allen, 22, of Clayton.
After striking Tisdale, Allen’s car ran off Cleveland Road and came to rest.
On Friday, the Highway Patrol announced no charges would be filed against Allen. Authorities are still trying to determine why Tisdale was in the roadway. Photo by John Payne
