Overturned landscape truck and trailer struck by pickup truck
WILSON’S MILLS – Weather conditions may have contributed to a loaded landscape truck losing control on Powhatan Road, overturning and spilling its load of pallets of sod, Friday night.
The wrecked truck and enclosed equipment trailer it was pulling were blocking both lanes of Powhatan Road when another driver in a pickup truck was blinded by bright lights and crashed into and through the overturned vehicles.
Immediately, a woman stopped to aid the injured landscape truck driver, but was standing next to the overturned trailer when it was struck by the pickup truck. The trailer was pushed into her, knocking her off of the roadway and into a ditch.
The woman complained of injuries but got back into her car and drove away.
The Wilson’s Mills Fire Department provided traffic control on Powhatan Road, which was closed for several hours, following the 7:30pm wreck.
