Personnel Actions Approved By Johnston County School Board

SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Board of Education approved several personnel changes during its Dec. 9 meeting, acting on recommendations from Superintendent Dr. David Pearce.

The board approved a three-year contract for William Weaver, who will serve as Chief of Student Services in a central administrative role.

Two appointments were approved within the Human Resources Department, with Dr. Kristina Benson named Human Resources Officer and Robert Simpkins appointed Executive Director of Human Resources and Classified Personnel.

A two-year contract was also approved for David Brody Massengill as principal of South Johnston High School.

Superintendent Pearce announced one administrative transfer as well. Chad Jewett will transition from his current position as principal of Thanksgiving Elementary School to become principal of the new Wilson’s Mills High School.
