CLAYTON – Around 10:30 am today (Thursday), a pickup truck traveling southbound on Buffalo Road near Byrd Road suddenly veered to the left, crossed the opposite lane, drove up an embankment and crashed into a large pine tree.

The driver was injured and transported to Wake Med.

A passing North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper drove up on the accident.

Wilson’s Mills Fire and Johnston County EMS also responded to the single vehicle accident.
