Pickup Overturns In Fatal N.C. 242 Crash

JOHNSTON COUNTY – A Dunn man was killed and a passenger seriously injured in an early-morning crash Saturday on N.C. 242 in southern Johnston County.

The N.C. State Highway Patrol responded around 4:17 a.m. to the 6000 block of N.C. 242 South.

Troopers said a Dodge Ram was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line and struck a ditch.

The pickup became airborne and overturned before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, Jesus Aguirre, 33, of Dakota Lane, Dunn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, Jessica Williams, 43, of Dunn, sustained serious injuries and was transported to WakeMed. Williams was listed in stable condition Saturday morning.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal collision.
