CLAYTON – A driver was injured after his pickup truck overturned this morning (Friday). It happened around 1:30am on Ranch Road. The Clayton Fire Department and Johnston County EMS responded to the single vehicle accident.
A Ford pickup ran off the roadway and struck a driveway culvert. After the initial impact the truck overturned, hit a large tree, and was flung back onto the roadway, heavily damaged and upside down. The injured driver was trapped inside.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to access the cab of the truck and the driver who was quickly extricated. He was transported to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the single vehicle accident.
