The driver of a pickup truck was hospitalized this morning (Friday) after wrecking his truck on the US 70 Clayton Bypass.
The single vehicle accident was reported around 1:00am.
The Ford F-150 was estimated to have been traveling at least 80 miles per hour when it traveled off the highway and bounced off the eastbound guardrails on both sides of the road. The heavily damaged truck came to rest in the middle of the eastbound lanes of US 70 on top of the Ranch Road Bridge.
The 21 year-old Goldsboro man was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Charges were pending according to the NC Highway Patrol.
The Clayton Fire Department and Johnston County EMS responded to the early morning crash.
