Johnston County Public Schools named Dwight Jones the 2017 Custodian of the Year for his outstanding service and work ethic.
Jones, the Head Custodian at Pine Level Elementary, was recognized among his colleagues at the annual Sparkle Awards Ceremony.
As Custodian of the Year, Jones was presented with an honorary plaque by Johnston County Public Schools Director of Facility Services Brian Strickland.
Strickland spoke at the ceremony to Jones’ outstanding work ethic and attitude.
“He is always ahead of the curve and takes pride in his work,” said Strickland.
Strickland added that Jones is known for always being willing to lend a helping hand.
“When a neighboring school recently needed help to get a job done, he stepped in when we asked for help,” said Strickland. “It is an honor and pleasure to announce Mr. Jones as the 2017 Head Custodian of the Year.”
