Pine Level Police Looking For Attempted Bank Robbery Suspect

Pine Level Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery. It happened at the only bank in the small town.

The attempted hold up occurred at 9:45am this morning (Wednesday) at Southern Bank at 109 Peedin Avenue.

Police Chief Ashley Woodard said a lone black male dressed in all black, wearing sunglasses, and a bandana around his face attempted to enter the bank through a side door.  Security measures prevented him from going through the side door.  Police said the suspect shook the door but could not get in.

The suspect also dropped an item he was holding in his hand, possibly a bag, but picked up the item as he left.

Chief Woodard said the suspect was driving a gold four door Honda passenger car with tape obscuring the license plate. The vehicle was last seen headed towards Selma.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was displayed.
