Planning Board To Consider 6 New Subdivisions, 4 Rezoning Requests

The Johnston County Planning Board will consider six new subdivisions totaling 215 lots when they meet this month.

The proposed Beaver Falls subdivision consists of 49 lots on 47.8 acres on Benson-Hardee Road, one-fourth mile south of the intersection of Bailey’s Crossroads Road in Banner Township.

Cooper Creek North consists of 36 lots on 41.8 acres on Tarheel Road just west of Woodall Dairy Road in Banner Township.

J&S Farms – East and West includes 28 lots on 19.4 acres on Raleigh Road just south of the intersection of Zack’s Mill Road in Elevation Township.

The Kirtz Tract proposal is for 33 lots on 29.7 acres on Raleigh Road at the intersection of Stephenson Road in Elevation Township.

The Highway 96 Tract on Highway 96 North at Price Road in O’Neals Township is seeking 60 lots on 46.57 acres.

The Sonny Road Tract on Sunny Road just west of Matthews Road in the Cleveland Township is for 9 lots on 47.5 acres.

Four rezoning petitions will also be heard.

Jeremiah and Lakeitha Parker are seeking to rezone a 0.94 acre tract at 309 Jeribec Drive in Pleasant Grove Township from Agricultural Residential to General Business – Special Use District to allow for commercial vehicle parking and a single family residence.  The property is owned by Enroll Cromwell.

Randy Maine is petitioning the planning board to rezone 0.90 acres of a 3.23 acre tract at 4913 Lee Drive in the Cleveland Township from Agricultural Residential to General Business – Special Use District to allow for commercial vehicle parking and construction equipment storage. The property is owned by Fred and Joanne Randall.

Jamal Ali Rahhal has filed a request to rezone 1.7 acres located at 10754 NC Highway 50 in the Pleasant Grove Township from Community Business to General Business.  The property is owned by Jalam Ali Rahhal and Mohammed M. Mustafa.

Ashley Batten has filed a petition to rezone 1.06 acres located at 285 Garner Road in the Micro Township from Agricultural Residential to General Business.  The property is owned by David Ricky Godwin Revocable Trust and David Ricky Godwin Trustee.

The Planning Board also plans to discus Building Permit trends at their monthly meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 17th at 6:00pm in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield. The meeting is open to the public.
