Police: Domestic Assault Victim Stabbed Multiple Times

WILSON’S MILLS – A Wilson’s Mills woman is recovering from serious injuries after police said she was stabbed multiple times during a domestic altercation. Wilson’s Mills Police responded to a home on Pear Tree Lane around 7:00am Monday and located the female victim at a nearby neighbor’s home suffering from numerous injuries and lacerations.

Chief A.Z. Williams said officers located 56 year-old Needham Melvin Hockaday of Clayton and placed him under arrest for assault inflicting serious bodily injury.

Following an ongoing investigation this week, including a search warrant and multiple interviews, charges were upgraded to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and first-degree kidnapping. Additional charges have not been ruled out.

Hockaday is being held without bond at the Johnston County Jail.

The victim, at last report, is in stable condition and expected to recover.
