Smithfield Police are investigating an early morning stabbing. Around 5:00am Wednesday, officers responded to a domestic related incident in the 1900 block of West Market Street near Rogers Drive and found one person had been stabbed.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Wake Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition.
Police Captain R. Sheppard said additional information about the incident would be released on Thursday.
