Smithfield Police confirmed today (Wednesday) they are investigating the alleged rape of a Selma teenager.
The victim told police the incident happened at an undisclosed location in Smithfield on Sunday. It was reported to police on Monday. The victim knew the alleged attacker.
Captain R. Sheppard said the case has been forwarded to the detectives division.
