Police Investigating More Catalytic Converters Thefts

Smithfield Police are investigating additional catalytic converter thefts. On Monday, an employee at Home Masters Termite and Pest Solutions at 1260 W. Market Street reported a catalytic converter had been stolen from a Ford truck in their parking lot.  That same day, catalytic converters were reported stolen from two Ford buses parked in a business parking lot in the 500 block of S. Brightleaf Boulevard.

On Wednesday, two catalytic converters were reported stolen from two Ford vans owned by the Disabled American Veterans at 1500 Buffalo Road. The thefts happened sometime Tuesday or early-Wednesday.

On September 20th, catalytic converters were stolen from two Toyota cars parked at Jackson Automotive at 206 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.  That same morning, five cars parked outside Black’s Tire & Auto at 512 E. Market Street were broken into. At the same time, a break-in was discovered at Cricket’s Grill at 506 E. Market Street.  A cash register was stolen.    The Sept. 20th incidents are believed to be connected.
