Police Link Suspect To Business And Auto Vandalism Incidents

SMITHFIELD – Smithfield Police have arrested a suspect they say is responsible for several vandalism cases in the past week.

Donald Edward Vinson of W. Second Street, Princeton is charged with 8 counts of damage to property.

Vinson is accused of throwing rocks through windows at businesses and vandalizing cars, by allegedly jumping on the vehicles causing damage, or throwing rocks through the windshields.

Vandalism incidents occurred at Vasquez Law Firm at 612 S. Brightleaf Boulevard, Coor Farm Supply at 3 N. Malta Street, Capitol Auto at 713 S. Brightleaf Boulevard, Brightleaf Motors Inc. at 115 S. Brightleaf Boulevard, and Paul Auto Sales at 807 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.

Once located and questioned, Vinson allegedly confessed to the crimes.
