Expired: Police Locate Drugs

A local fast food worker is facing a felony drug charge following his arrest Wednesday afternoon in Smithfield.

Around 3:00pm, Smithfield Police responded to a domestic disturbance in a parking lot on Canterbury Road.  During a search of one of the individuals involved, officers reportedly found 28 grams of seroquel and 0.7 grams of crack cocaine.  Seroquel is a prescription drug commonly used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but it can also be abused and is often mixed with cocaine when used illegally.

Antwaun Curtis Thorpe, 25, of the 7300 block of Buffalo Road, Selma was taken into custody and charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance.

He was incarcerated at the Johnston County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
