Selma Police said they located a small amount of suspected cocaine along with drug paraphernalia after stopping a car on US 301 South Tuesday night.
Around 10:40pm, an officer noticed an SUV traveling well below the posted speed limit of 45 MPH. The officer noticed a brake light cover was broken and stopped the vehicle.
Police said during the traffic stop, a passenger, 64 year-old Sylvia Larue Medlin of Tom Crocker Road, Pine Level attempted to conceal drug paraphernalia inside a cigarette box. During a search of the car, crack cocaine was reportedly found.
Medlin and the driver, Frederick Warren, 59, of Davis Mill Road, Selma were both charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $5,000 each. Police also impounded the vehicle.
