Two women were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon. Around 5:15pm, a Smithfield police officer stopped a car on South Brightleaf Boulevard. Officers reportedly found numerous drug paraphernalia items including a syringe, metal pipe, glass pipe, metal spoon, and brillo. Also, a small amount of suspected heroin, crack cocaine, and one prescription pill were allegedly located.
Heather Dexter Arreaga, 29, of South Front Street, Smithfield was charged with felony possession of heroin, felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $30,000.
Cheryl Mozingo Dexter, 48, of E. Lizzie Street, Selma was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $1,500. Photos by John Payne
