Police, NAACP To Hold Meeting On Body-Worn Cameras

The Garner Police Department, along with the Raleigh-Apex branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), will hold a community meeting to discuss body-worn cameras.

The meeting will take place Friday, April 7th at 7 p.m. at the Shalom Christian Community Church, located at 309 Holman Drive in Garner.  The purpose of the open-forum meeting is to get feedback on the department’s body-worn camera program and policy.

The Police Department hopes to receive citizen’s feedback about the program so that the department ensures its policy meets community expectations as it plans for implementation.

Public feedback will help shape the Police Department’s final body-worn camera policy.
