The State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash late-Wednesday that injured a Coats police officer and the driver of a second vehicle.
Troopers said the marked police car was traveling on Cane Mill Road when the officer failed to yield at a stop sign. The cruiser struck a Chevrolet Avalance traveling south on Red Hill Church Road. After the impact the Chevy traveled off the roadway and overturned.
Both drivers were transported to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Officials have not said if the officer was on duty at the time of the crash or if they were responding to a call.
And let me guess …. NO charges will be filed?!?
you know not
He needs to be charged with failing to reduce speed and failing to stop at a stop sign..He isn’t any better than anyone else who does wrong and hits another car….I see police all the time speeding and I don’t mean when they are responding to a call…The should follow same laws we have to follow. Now not all cops do these things but alot do…
