Police: Parent Arrested For Causing Disturbance On School Bus

CLAYTON – Police in Clayton have charged a mother with causing a disturbance on a Johnston County Public School bus. Whitney Justina Cooper, age 34, of Wynston Way, Clayton was charged March 25 with trespass/impeding a school bus and disordered conduct, both misdemeanor offenses.

Earlier that day, Clayton Police Chief Greg Tart said Cooper entered a school bus at a bus stop on Wynston Way, as it was picking up children to transport to West Clayton Elementary School.

The school bus driver attempted to get Cooper to leave the bus, but she refused and began yelling and using expletives towards some children on the bus.

According to the arrest warrant, Cooper reportedly yelled at the students, “If anybody put they hands on these two, we’re gonna have a problem…. If another mother child put they hands on my kids, it’s gonna be a f**king problem.” She also reportedly berated the bus driver stating “You f**king don’t” in front of the students.

The school bus video camera system captured the incident.

The incident was reported to the Clayton Police School Resource Officer assigned to West Clayton Elementary School.

Cooper was placed under a $1,000 secured bond.

  1. This is what the next two generations are turning into. Poor kids wont be able to ride the bus or even be in class with any of the other bus riders. I know that she will see this. So will her family. And the town. I hope you have a hard time showing your face. Shame on you for what you did. When people start staring and pointing you’ll know why.

  2. Know what.. ME TOO. I need that with ALL the kids on the bus, the BUS DRIVER, THE MOMMA, and THE BUS ITS SELF.

    Run me that.

  3. Only $1000 bond? What is wrong with these magistrates in Johnston County. That means that she can go home after paying $150. That’s not a bond.

  4. Nothing like cussing, threatening kids, and acting like a lunatic on an elementary school bus. Maybe she should re-attend elementary school and learn some manners. Jus’ Sayin’

  5. Again $1,000 bond? This low bond for a lady that had all these charges but one charge that was not listed was communicating a threat to all the passengers on the bus. Now I also have a concern and that is, how safe are these kids on this bus with this lady on the loose. I feel that if there are any further problems involving this woman, the magistrate or judge needs to be charged as well. We need to do all we can to protect our kids.
