Police Post Photos Of Sad Cops After Car Strikes Donut Shop

The Clayton Police Department posted a photo of two police officers in mourning after responding to an accident at the Dunkin Donuts on Enterprise Drive at Highway 70 this morning (Thursday).

Police said the female driver accidentally hit the gas pedal of the car and drove through the front glass window.  Two people in the car are going to be okay, police said, and no one inside the business was hurt.

“Our investigating officers, who are regular customers, are understandably devastated and relieved no one was seriously hurt,” according to the Clayton Police Facebook post. Two of the responding officers are shown in the photo with their heads down.

One person wrote, “Most awesome sense of humor.”  Another said, “Are they praying in this pic?”  While another commented, “They need time to grieve.”

Another person said, “So sorry guys. And thanks for serving!”  And, “It’s a sad day to be a cop.”

Dunkin Donuts will be closed Thursday until repairs are made and the cleanup completed.
