Police are searching for a man with a ‘Joker’ tattoo on his arm after he reportedly stole five pair of designer sunglasses from a local business. The theft happened Friday at 4:30PM at the Sunglass Hut on Outlet Center Drive.
Smithfield Police said the suspect entered the store inquiring about purchasing a pair of sunglasses. As an employee showed the man several different glasses another customer entered the business. When the employee went to help the other customer the suspect grabbed five pair of sunglasses and ran out the front door. The glasses were valued at $1,640.76.
Captain R. Sheppard said the suspect was a white male, 25-30 years of age, 210 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The suspect had a clown tattoo on his right arm that looked like the Joker. In May 2019, an unidentified suspect stole 15 pair of designer sunglasses from the same business. The stolen glasses were valued at $4,368.
