Police Seek Public Help In Murder Investigation

Alquan Jermique Dunn of Goldsboro was shot and killed October 16, 2022 in a parking lot next to The Diamond District Lounge in Selma.

SELMA – Selma Police are asking for assistance from the public in a homicide investigation. Around 2:08am, Sunday, October 16th, officers were dispatched to a parking lot adjacent to The Diamond District Lounge at 1688 S. Pollock Street (US 301). Officers located two people at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds.

Alquan Jermique Dunn, age 26, of Goldsboro died from his injuries. The second victim, Ebony Brinson, age 33, of Mt. Olive was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the leg. Police said Brinson was an innocent victim who happened to be walking through the parking lot when the shooting occurred.

Selma Police want to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the October 16th shooting. Police request anyone with information to call 919-965-8189 Extension 2005.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
