Police: Woman Tosses Gasoline On Employee Inside Restaurant

SMITHFIELD – Smithfield Police are investigating an assault inside a local restaurant. Officers were dispatched to Texas Steakhouse at 401 Outlet Center Drive around 10:25pm Saturday, March 8.

Police said a 23 year-old woman was at work inside Texas Steakhouse when a female acquaintance entered the restaurant and tossed a bottle filled with gasoline on her.

A manager chased the suspect outside the business, however the suspect reportedly threatened the manager with a stun gun while in the parking lot. The suspect fled before police arrived.

The victim sustained minor injuries. Officers said the victim and suspect knew one another and had been involved in an ongoing dispute.

Police said the gasoline splashed on the victim damaged a backpack belonging to a second employee.

Warrants were obtained against the suspect. Once located she will be charged with aggravated assault and damage to property. Police did not release the suspect’s name pending her arrest.

  1. She should be charged with attempted murder. She threw a dangerous chemical on this young lady while she was working so that means she wasn’t harassing her in any way. Once found book her in jail with attempted murder!!
