Police: Three Juveniles Identified As Victims In Child Sex Crimes Investigation

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man is facing multiple felony charges after an investigation into alleged sex crimes involving three juvenile victims.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers began investigating on Jan. 19 after receiving a report alleging three children had been victims of sexual battery at a residence in the city limits.

During the investigation, detectives identified James Eric Phillips, 55, as the suspect.

Police said Phillips was charged on June 16 with four counts of indecent liberties with a child involving three juvenile victims, ages 7, 8, and 13.

Phillips was arrested at the Goldsboro Police Department and placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond pending his first court appearance.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims connected to similar allegations involving Phillips.

The Goldsboro Police Department is asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim, or anyone with information related to the investigation, to contact Investigator Howell at 919-580-4206.

The investigation remains ongoing.
