Members from the American Legion Leonard Moore Post 71 of Clayton held a remembrance ceremony on Memorial Day at McLaurin at Pinecrest Memorial Park in honor of the 96 Veterans from across Johnston County who have died in the past year.
The Post Everlasting Ceremony included the presentation of a wreath after Colors was placed at half mass, the reading of the names of their 96 departed comrades. It was followed by a ceremonial firing squad salute, the playing of Taps, and prayer.
