Power Restored In Meadow Community

UPDATE 4:40 P.M.: Power has been restored to all customers in the area.

MEADOW COMMUNITY — More than 700 customers are without power Wednesday afternoon in southern Johnston County.

Duke Energy crews are on the scene of the outage, which was reported shortly after 3 p.m. in the Meadow community.

The utility reported 708 customers without electrical service. Areas affected include portions of N.C. Highway 50 South, N.C. Highway 96 South, Woods Crossroads Road, Meadowbrook Road, Godwin Lake Road, Barefoot Road and Reedy Prong Church Road.

Officials said the outage was caused by a downed power line at the intersection of N.C. 96 and N.C. 50.

Duke Energy estimates service will be restored by 7 p.m.
