CLAYTON – Power was knocked out in parts of Downtown Clayton on Wednesday afternoon after a power pole holding three large transformers fell onto a building at Fellowship Baptist Church on W. Main Street.
The heavy electrical equipment damaged the gable end and roof of the former academy building at the church. No injuries were reported.
Town of Clayton utility workers spent the afternoon replacing the pole and restoring power.
