The 8th annual Princeton Community Day will take place this Saturday, June 2nd from 9:00am until 2:00pm.
The annual event is organized by the Princeton Chamber of Commerce with help from the Town of Princeton and the Princeton Fire Department.
There will be arts and crafts, food vendors, children’s activities, inflatable’s, military and law enforcement displays, exhibitors, sponsor booths, and lots of family fun and entertainment.
The Princeton Fire Department will have various fire trucks and apparatus on display.
Starting at 9:00am on the Festival Stage the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Color Guard will present the colors. At 9:30am, Mrs. Keysha Sheppard, Vice Principal at Princeton Middle/High School and her husband, Thurman, will take the stage. They will perform a selection of Christian worship music for the Princeton Community Day crowd sure to be full of students and coworkers to support Mrs. Sheppard.
Next up, at 10 am are performances by students of Tippy Toes Dance Studio of Princeton. At 11:00 am, for the first time on the Community Day stage, enjoy the Eastern Wayne High School Blue Note Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Bobby Sherard.
At 12:00 Noon, the 2016 Carolina Music Awards Country Band of the Year, Louis Waymore will take the stage. This one woman, three-man band includes two Princeton High School graduates from 1993 and 1994 – Adam Barbour and Phil Wise joined by Erin Wise and Ken Dawson. Among the band’s influences are Dale Watson, Merle Haggard, Rolling Stones, and Emmylou Harris.
Closing out the day of entertainment beginning at 1:00 pm, One Promise Ministries (OPM), a Christian rock/contemporary band and outreach ministry will perform.
