GOLDSBORO – An investigation into a bank robbery has led to the arrest of a Princeton man. Jimmie Lee Wiggins was arrested Thursday morning by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Goldsboro Police.
Wiggins, 47, was located around 11:19am at a location on Progressive Church Road and taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Around 10:30am Tuesday, Dec. 10, Goldsboro Police allege Wiggins walked into First Bank at 431 N. Spence Avenue. He reportedly threatened employees and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Wiggins was held without bond in the Wayne County Detention Center pending his first court appearance.
Goldsboro Police expressed their appreciation to the public for their assistance with the case.
