Adam Casey, a senior at Princeton High School, has signed his National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track for Barton College in Wilson.
Adam is a standout cross country and distance runner for the Bulldogs. His record stands as having a PR of 5:06 in the 1600m, a 11:11 in the 3200m, and a time of 18:17.20 in the 5000m.
Casey stated, “I am super excited to have the opportunity to continue running in college, and it has been so great seeing all the hard work pay off.”
He is also as strong in the classroom with a weighted GPA of 4.40. Adam plans to major in business administration at Barton.
Cross Country Coach Glenna Eckenrod shared, “In the years that I have both instructed and coached Adam, he has always been a leader. Adam is a hard worker, who is very goal-oriented and strives for excellence. He pushes himself and those around him in a very positive way. Adam has a bright future ahead of him.”
Princeton Track and Field Coach Michael Price said that Adam is an athlete you only see come through once or twice in a coaching career. Adam is one that will practice in and out of season. He sees where he needs to improve on his own, and then he betters himself. “I never go by the track in the afternoons that I do not see his truck. He is always running to better himself,” said Price. “I’m so thankful his hard work has allowed him to compete at the next level.”
Adam is the son of Daniel and Judy Casey.
