CLAYTON – Different kinds of identification cards are distilling at Deep River Brewing Company. Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library partnered with the local business to host “Get (Library) Carded” from 5 – 8 p.m., Thursday, March 7.
The event was designed to reach adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s and share the benefits of becoming a library cardholder.
“We are very interested in meeting people where they are and reaching people who may not necessarily stop by the library regularly,” said Library Director Joy Garretson.
As a reminder, anyone who lives in Johnston County, as well as all Johnston County educators, can get a library card for free. Out-of-county residents can also take advantage of the library’s resources for a yearly fee of $25.
“We want to break down barriers to library access because everyone deserves a chance to explore and learn more about the world around them,” said Garretson.
A library card is an incredible informational tool that unlocks countless resources, Garretson added. Some well-known assets include books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, music, TV shows, and movies from the library’s digital and physical collections. There are some more unconventional materials as well, such as:
· Board Games
· Early Literacy Backpack Kits
· Hotspots and Chromebooks
· Genealogy, Career and Test Prep, and Language Learning Databases
“Our objective is responding to all kinds of resource needs in our community – readers’ advisory, research, history, technology and printing, career assistance, and homework help,” she said. “Libraries offer so much more than books these days. In fact, a huge part of what we offer is connection to others.”
Those interested in getting a library card can register online for a temporary digital one by visiting claytonlibrarync.org/register or visit the library, located at 100 South Church St., to get a physical one during normal business hours.
Staff members from Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library plan to make appearances at Deep River Brewing Company and other community locations throughout this spring and summer. Check out all the resources, programs, and services that the library offers at claytonlibrarync.org.

I have been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
