Rabin Recognized By NC National Guard

Senator-Ron-Rabin-FISenator Ron Rabin has been honored by the North Carolina National Guard.  Major General Gregory Lusk, the Commander of the North Carolina National Guard, presented Sen. Rabin with the North Carolina National Guard Civilian Commendation Medal.  The award is presented for outstanding civilian service to the State and the North Carolina National Guard.

“This award is especially meaningful because it is presented by a top-notch military organization with high standards; a military organization that recognizes the need to maintain excellence in its leadership ranks,” Senator Rabin said. “That excellence comes from training, dedication and experience.”

The medal honors Senator Rabin’s for outstanding civilian service to the State and the North Carolina National Guard during the 2014-2015 legislative session during which time he was an outspoken advocate for strategic changes to statutes regarding the selection criteria used in selecting North Carolina’s Adjutant General.  These changes will ensure that future North Carolina Adjutant Generals will be fully trained and carefully selected based on their professional development, education and demonstrated ability to lead the NCNG in today’s modern operational environment.

Rabin is serving his second term in the North Carolina Senate and is Chairman of the Senate Workforce and Economic Development Committee.
