GALOT Motorsports Park’s Summit Racing Equipment ET Series is officially underway. After all of the anticipation, over 325 drivers traveled to GALOT Motorsports Park April 2nd for the first weekend of the annual points series. Although plagued by rain during Saturday’s racing action, officials finished the race on Sunday.
GALOT will continue to host races, tractor pulls, and motorbike events. Coming up in May, the Third Annual NTPA Truck and Tractor Pulling will be held May 27-28. This event will be the first Grand National hook of the season for Super Stock Open, Super Farm, Pro Stock, Light Super Stock, Super Stock Diesel, Unlimited Modified, Light Unlimited Modified, Four Wheel Drive Trucks, Two Wheel Drive Trucks and Mini Rods. This year GOLOT is adding a third session that will take place on Saturday afternoon. This will also be the first leg for the Shell Rotella Cup. Tickets are $20 per session at the gate or $18 in advance at your local O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. An advanced weekend pass will be available for $45. Kids ages 6-12 are $10. Kids 6 and under get in free! Gates will open at 5pm on Friday and at 10am for the afternoon session on Saturday.
Also, mark your calendar for the Thursday Night Pro Mod racing series. The series starts May 5th followed by four races – June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th, and October 29th (a Saturday). This is going to be a thrilling racing spectacle with regional racers bringing their own cars and going toe-to-toe in an eighth mile drag race. The series will follow the same rules and points as Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod with the exception of limiting the field to 8 cars. If you’re a fan of drag racing or looking for some face-paced entertainment, Thursday nights are for you. Tickets are $20, kids 12 & under are free with a paying adult.
