Rain Doesn’t Stop Annual Red Ribbon Parade

“You can’t rain on our parade!” said students from Pine Level Elementary.

The Green Hornets didn’t let Friday’s heavy rain stop the school’s annual Red Ribbon Week Parade.

The parade marks the end of Red Ribbon Week, a national campaign that focuses on spreading drug awareness.

Teachers and students paraded through the halls of the school with banners and signs for Red Ribbon Week with a “Say No to Drugs” theme. Students were also given an opportunity to make a shoebox float for the parade that they could pull.

Parents, school stakeholders, and community members came out to see student’s participate in the indoor parade. Members of the North Johnston High band visited the school to lead the parade.

Friday’s parade marks the sixth annual parade that the school has organized for Red Ribbon Week.
