Authorities are once again encouraging drivers to keep your cars locked and valuables out of sight following a rash of car break-ins this week.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is looking into at least 5 reports of car break-ins they believe could be connected. They occurred in the driveways of homes along Jackson-King Road and Mt. Pleasant Road in the Willow Spring community of western Johnston County.
In all the cases the vehicles had been left unlocked. Money was taken from one of the vehicles. A handgun and credit cards were taken from another car.
The break-ins happened sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
A car break-in was reported Tuesday on Carroll Road in the Thanksgiving community north of Selma but deputies don’t believe it is connected to the break-ins in the Willow Spring community.
No arrests have been made.
