Garner Police are investigating a rash of car break-ins. Ten vehicles were broken into while parked in the area of the Forest Hills Apartments and Lorraine Village overnight Tuesday. All the vehicle had been left unlocked and valuables had been left in plain sight.
Police remind residents to LOCK, TAKE and HIDE when dealing with valuables in their cars.
Always LOCK your car doors, even if the car is parked in your driveway or at your home. Thieves will often skip cars that are locked in search for easier targets. TAKE any valuables with you that are in your car to minimize the value of stolen items if your car is broken into. In the event that you are out shopping or running errands and have to leave valuables in the car, make sure you HIDE any valuables that you leave in the car. And finally, as a reminder, please call the police any time you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
