PINE LEVEL – An early morning fire destroyed a Pine Level home. The blaze was reported around 3:45am Wednesday at 47 Peedin Street Extension.
The Pine Level, Selma, Smithfield, Brogden and Micro Fire Departments arrived to find flames burning through the roof of the home. It took crews just over two hours to bring the fire under control.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the residents were not at home when the fire started. Investigators determined the fire started in the living room area but the cause has not yet been determined.
The Red Cross is assisting one adult and two children who were displaced. The home is a total loss.
That terrible that house has been there for years.
