Register Of Deeds Office Reopening Dec. 29th

The Johnston County Register of Deeds Office will re-open to the public on Tuesday, December 29th during normal business hours. They have been closed since December 15th.

Limited staff will be available and in an effort to reduce walk-in traffic, appointments will be required for marriage certificates and notary public.  Passport services are suspended until further notice.

Register of Deeds Craig Olive said, “I want to thank attorneys, paralegals, surveyors, notaries and the general public for their patience while we’ve adjusted and embarked on unchartered territories at a rapid pace.   I am looking forward to reopening the office to in-person services once again on Tuesday, December 29th.  It is my hope that each of you all have a safe and Merry Christmas.”

To make an appointment, for marriage certificates you can call 919-989-5161. Call 919-989-5160 for notary public or visit www.johnstonnc.com/rod.

The public is highly encouraged to visit the Johnston County Register of Deeds website and utilize the many services that are available online such as electronic recording of real estate documents and requests for certified birth, death and marriage certificates.
