Rep. White Joins NCIOM Legislative Health Policy Fellows

Rep. Donna White

RALEIGH – As legislators prepare for the new year, Representative Donna White (R-Johnston) has joined the 2024 cohort of the North Carolina Institute of Medicine (NCIOM) Legislative Health Policy Fellows.

Representative White is among 22 North Carolina legislators to join the cohort which is designed for participants to learn from experts and one another in an effort to enrich health policy decision-making in our state.

More than 30 percent of North Carolina’s budget is allocated to health-related services, so our state legislators have tremendous influence on the health of communities across the state,” said NCIOM Interim President and CEO Michelle Ries, MPH. “We are pleased to bring health data and resources to these elected officials as they take on the task of better understanding the complexities of health and health care in North Carolina, and focus on finding solutions for our state.”

Serving as Chair to both the Committee on Health and the Committee on Appropriations for Health and Human Services, Representative White said her passion for the health field is strong.
