JOHNSTON COUNTY – Johnston County was one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina last year, according to a new report from Carolina Demography.
2022 Population Estimates show the Tarheel state grew overall by 1.3 percent. During the same period, between July 1, 2021 and July 1, 2022, Johnston County grew by 3.3 percent.
According to the report, Johnston County had 227,313 residents on July 1, 2021. A year later that had increased by 7,465 residents to 234,778.
74 counties saw population numbers increase. Brunswick County saw the largest (percentage) population growth at 5.7 percent. Northampton County experienced the highest (percentage) decrease at -1.8.
And voter rolls grew by 5%!
@Brett: whats your point? The NCSBE stats show that less than 70% of eligible voters are actually registered.
The majority of that was probably Flowers Horrendous Plantation.

Actually Click, if that is your real name, Flowers Plantation is the nicest and most well done development in JoCo. Just because you may not like it does not mean its “horrendous”. People probably said the same thing about the subdivision that you moved in to.
TG, if that is your real name, wait until your neighbor, four boxes down, has a fire and you and about eight more boxes catch fire because they are all about ten feet apart and there are so many cars parked in the street that the fire department can’t get the equipment in to fight it.
