A Garner man is being held in the Johnston County Jail without bond following his arrested on statutory rape charges. Carlos Ramos Bautista, 31, of Seventh Avenue, Garner was arrested June 5th by deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Bautista had been under investigation by detectives after a complaint was filed with authorities on May 27, 2020 for allegedly sexually assaulting a 9 year-old female victim in Johnston County. Authorities also learned he was wanted on similar charges in Las Vegas, Nevada involving the same juvenile.
Bautista was charged in Johnston County with statutory rape of a child by an adult and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. He was given a $1 million bond on the three charges. He was served with a fugitive warrant from Nevada and held without bond on that charge.
