A Smithfield resident is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest following an illegal dumping incident on his property.

William Ragsdale reported Thursday that someone had disposed of several hundred pounds of construction debris on a path behind his home at 194 Packing Plant Road at the intersection of Galilee Road.

Ragsdale told deputies he saw a commercial work truck travel down the path on Tuesday and thinks they could be responsible.

Deputy J.L. Barbour responded to the illegal dumping incident and sifted through the debris looking for a name or other evidence to identify the person or persons responsible.  Some evidence was located.

Ragsdale told JoCoReport he is offering a $200 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.  Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
