A vacant two acre tract of land in O’Neals Township has been approved for an auto repair and body shop business. Glenys Yovany Teruel petitioned county commissioners to rezoning the parcel at 8035 NC Highway 222 from Agricultural Residential to General Business – Special Use District. Ms. Teruel owns the property.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the rezoning but did require several conditions. The conditions included the installation of a landscape buffer, signing and lighting requirements, and to limit the hours of operation Monday through Saturday from 6:00am until 9:00pm. Outdoor storage of vehicles awaiting repair or pickup by customers will be limited to 15.
No one spoke with any concerns about the rezoning at the January county commissioners meeting or October 2020 planning board meeting.
